What Is Motorcycle Insurance Covered For?

Your motorcycle will be protected in the event of an accident if you have the right insurance policy in place. Additionally, it can protect you from theft, vandalism, or other damage that may occur outside of a driving accident, such as another vehicle striking your bike while it’s in your driveway.

Collision Insurance vs Comprehensive Insurance

Damage to your motorcycle as a result of an accident that you or someone else may have caused is covered by collision insurance. Accidents can include those involving other vehicles as well as those involving inanimate objects such as buildings or guardrails, as well as hit-and-run situations.

Comprehensive Insurance

is also referred to as “other than collision” insurance because it provides coverage for situations that are not covered by collision insurance. It is a supplemental insurance policy that protects you against events that are out of your control. Accidents involving animals, flooding, falling trees or objects, theft, glass or windshield damage, and vandalism are just a few of the common occurrences that are covered here.

Combining comprehensive and collision coverages is referred to as “full coverage” when it is used in conjunction with collision insurance. While giving you the best chance of having all of your claims paid, you should be aware that most motorcycle policies still have exclusions that must be met.
